The waterway lighthouse Bjuröklubb NO, situated on the shore east of the large lighthouse station Bjuröklubb with its colossal lens. Note that the photograph is taken some weeks after midsummer, almost 11 pm. The midsummer light is intense some weeks before and after midsummer day. The nordic blue light evenings are long during the summer here, just south of the polar circle.
The lighthouse is situated 50 km southeast of the city of Skellefteå on the northeast coast of Sweden.
Due to GPS use, many of these old smaller waterway lighthouses have been converted to LED lights or darkened to save money. In Bjuröklubb NO, the lens inside is dismantled, and the electrical power shut down.
The main lighthouse on top of the cliff, 52 meters over sea level, built in 1859, are still in work though and owned by The Swedish Maritime Administration.
